NPower Charlotte Region is sponsoring a workshop to assist nonprofit agencies in assessing the security of their data and how to increase the security of their computer systems.

The free workshop, designed specifically for nonprofit organizations, will take place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 E. Morehead St., in uptown Charlotte.

The data security forum is part of NPower's Project Ignite, a three-year program, funded by a $2.75 million grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, to transform the way nonprofit agencies use IT to further their missions.
