Archipelago - Powering the Chain was the theme of this year's Digital Ball held at The Westin Charlotte on Saturday, April 25. NPower's "community" representing 60+ companies raised more than $400,000 in cash and in-kind donations to help NPower connect nonprofits with the power of today's technology.
With the program focus on connecting the IT and nonprofit communities, NPower announced the launch of Project Ignite, a three-year initiative to transform the technology situation in Mecklenburg County nonprofits.
The Technology Innovation Award, presented by Accenture, was awarded to Urban Ministry Center. The Center will use the Technology Innovation Award to create a web-based volunteer resource center that will significantly increase the productivity of their 6000+ volunteers while at the same time substantially reducing the Center's use of paper and time-intensive processes.
